謠言|rumor

rumor 泛指未被證實的訊息，有個用法 rumor has it…，意思是「據說、有傳言…」，如：

• Rumor has it you're going to be the next managing director. Is it true?
  大家都在傳說你將成為下一任總經理，是真的嗎？

例句：

• This is a rumor that's now spreading around, but there's truly no basis to it.
  有個謠言正在四處流傳，但它真的沒有根據。
