缺席|be absent

應當出席的會議（meeting），卻因為某些因素沒有如期到場，就會是「缺席」（be absent）。be absent 也可適用描述其他情況，例如上課缺席、因故請假沒去上班、頒獎典禮缺席等等。「缺席」的英文名詞為 absence。
