對手|opponent

「對手」指的是在某方面相互競爭的對方，英文說法除了最常用的 opponent 之外，也可以說 rival、adversary 或是 competitor。

另外，opponent 也可以指與自己意見不同的「反對者」，而若要表達「支持者」，英文說法則為 proponent。

例句：

1. The boxer knocked out his opponent in the fourth round.
   那位拳擊手在第四回合擊倒了對手。

2. The team will face its toughest opponent in the next game.
   該球隊將在下一場比賽中面對最難應付的對手。
