妥協|compromise

兩方為了消除爭端或尋求共同的目標，因此彼此退讓部分的意見和原則，這種行為稱為「妥協」。compromise名詞和動詞同形。compromise當名詞時，前面可搭配動詞reach，就是「達成共識」的意思。

例句：

1. The government has sworn to never compromise with terrorists.
   政府誓言永遠不與恐怖份子妥協。

2. The ability to compromise is the secret to a happy marriage.
   維持幸福婚姻的秘訣在於雙方能夠互相妥協。
