容忍|tolerate

形容詞為tolerant「容忍的，寬容的」或是tolerable「可容忍的、可接受的」。與tolerate字義相同的字詞還有：stand「忍受」；endure「忍耐」；put up with「忍受」；bear「忍受、承受」。

例句：

1. Stan couldn’t tolerate his sister’s awful singing any longer.
   史丹的妹妹唱歌難聽得要死，他再也無法忍受下去了。

2. Disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated in the classroom.
   課堂上不允許有任何無禮的行為。
