布袋戲|hand puppet theater

布袋戲是台灣特有的文化產業，因此也可稱 Taiwanese puppet theater，或是 glove puppet theater、glove puppetry。

theater 在這裡的意思是「戲劇」，puppet 指「布偶」，puppetry 指「操作布偶的活動」。如果要單指一場布袋戲，可以說 a hand puppet show／performance。

例句：

1. A number of organizations are working to preserve Taiwanese puppet theater.
   許多機構致力於布袋戲的保存。
2. Even though I don't understand Taiwanese, the hand puppet show was still fun to watch.
   即使我不懂閩南語，看布袋戲表演也很有趣。
