面子|face

英文「面子」跟中文一樣，也是用 face「臉」來稱之。

其相關用法則是來自於中文，如 save face「保住面子」、lose face「丟臉」。

例句：

1. When Bill was late to the meeting, he tried to save face by blaming traffic.
   比爾開會遲到時，試著用塞車的理由保住面子。

2. Karen was afraid that she would lose face if she admitted her mistake.
   凱倫擔心她如果承認錯誤會丟臉。
