留職停薪|leave without pay

一般來說，勞工若因家庭、就醫的因素需要暫時離開工作崗位，可以申請「留職停薪」 leave without pay。在美國，有些員工會因公司財務或其他特殊因素被迫留職停薪，這種情況則稱為 furlough。除此之外，若員工行為不良或工作上有疏失，則有可能受到 suspension without pay的懲處。
