金融時報精選：2022 年最重要的 15 本商管書，你錯過了哪些？

邁入 2023 年的新局面，讓我們回顧過去一年全球的重要政經議題，預作新年度的準備。英國《金融時報》（The Financial Times）從 2022 年 600 本受歡迎的商管書籍精選年度 15 本佳作，幫助我們重新審視劇變將臨的全球政經局勢：升息與通膨壓力持續進逼，全球供應鏈的斷鏈問題，後疫情時期勞動市場缺工狀態的白熱化，以及作為前述種種壓力的背景因素、持續產生重大影響的地緣政治風險與環境危機。

1.《Slouching Towards Utopia: An Economic History of the Twentieth Century》

經濟學家傑．布萊弗．德隆（J Bradford DeLong）的新書《Slouching Towards Utopia: An Economic History of the Twentieth Century》分析從 1870 到 2010 年這段期間人類的經濟發展。德隆認為，雖然就人類歷史而言，這是一段在物質財富上人類獲得巨大成就的年代，但這個「長世紀」仍未達成人類理想中的「烏托邦」期望。

2.《The Rise and Fall of the Neoliberal Order: America and the World in the Free Market Era》

蓋瑞．格斯特（Gary Gerstle）的《The Rise and Fall of the Neoliberal Order: America and the World in the Free Market Era》，探索西方世界是如何大力擁抱新自由主義，堅持自由貿易與自由市場的信條，這包括不同光譜的政治人物如雷根以及所謂新左派都對此大力支持，導致一股資本主義的全球新浪潮。

3.《Disorder: Hard Times in the 21st Century》

海倫．湯普森（Helen Thompson）的《Disorder: Hard Times in the 21st Century》從年初的烏俄衝突出發，她分別從國內、經濟到地緣政治對區域的影響，以及能源政治如何在背景影響國際政治，歸結出能源議題仍是影響政治版圖與衝突的最重要導火線。

4.《The Price of Time: The Real Story of Interest》

愛德華．錢思勒（Edward Chancellor）的《The Price of Time: The Real Story of Interest》是一本對近年來低利率政策提出質疑的新書。無論是否同意如此論點，他的觀察對照現今各國央行利用貨幣政策打擊通貨膨脹的做法倒是相當一致。

5.《Direct: The Rise of the Middleman Economy and the Power of Going to the Source》

財經專家凱瑟琳．賈吉（Kathryn Judge）的《Direct: The Rise of the Middleman Economy and the Power of Going to the Source》觀察在各大產業，包括銀行、不動產及零售業，強大的中間商和供應鏈創造不可思議的成長。然而這也帶來潛在的危機，供應鏈應該仰賴更直接的原物料或產品供應來源，以便建立更好的可靠性與可依賴性。

6.《Chip War: The Fight for the World's Most Critical Technology》

去年十月出版的的《晶片戰爭》（Chip War: The Fight for the World's Most Critical Technology），作者克里斯．米勒（Chris Miller）稱半導體是「新石油」，是眾多電子與家電產品、電動車、軍事武器、甚至核電廠的關鍵組件。而台海周遭的不穩定局勢也讓全世界對台灣的半導體依賴更受矚目。

7.《Talent: How to Identify Energizers, Creatives, and Winners Around the World》

由泰勒．科文（Tyler Cowen）和丹尼爾．葛羅斯（Daniel Gross）合著《Talent: How to Identify Energizers, Creatives, and Winners Around the World》，探討企業如何招募所需人才，同時也能建構一個人才網絡，確保能組織多元而有創造力的團隊。

8.《Power Failure: The Rise and Fall of General Electric》

由名作家威廉．柯漢（William D Cohan）所著《Power Failure: The Rise and Fall of General Electric》，探討奇異公司這家美國工業界曾經的巨擘如何由盛轉衰。柯漢指出奇異公司的失敗是在於公司狂妄的雄心，以及最終仍想要維持企業長久的神話因而導致了失敗。

9.《死亡盲飛：737 MAX 客機的空難悲劇與波音帝國的衰落》（Flying Blind: The 737 MAX Tragedy and the Fall of Boeing）

彼得．羅比森（Peter Robison）則探討另一個美國標竿企業波音的失敗，他在《死亡盲飛：737 MAX 客機的空難悲劇與波音帝國的衰落》（Flying Blind: The 737 MAX Tragedy and the Fall of Boeing）描述財務動機與工程師需求的拉扯，造成 2018 年到 2019 年間 8 架波音 737 Max 的致命墜機事故，而這樣的事故被認為是波音受到已故奇異公司執行長傑克．威爾許（Jack Welch）的績效追求目標所導致。

彭博社記者 Lulu Yilun Chen 所著的《Influence Empire: Inside the Story of Tencent and China’s Tech Ambition》，探討騰訊創辦人馬化騰和他的微信帝國如何影響中國經濟與科技革命，以及背後如何介入中國的政治活動。

11.《The Power Law: Venture Capital and the Art of Disruption》

塞巴斯廷．馬拉比（Sebastian Mallaby）的新書《The Power Law: Venture Capital and the Art of Disruption》探討長期支撐矽谷發展的創業風險基金，透過本書，馬拉比想要回答這個很多人心中都有的疑問：究竟是這些風險基金創造了矽谷的成功企業，又或者它們只是在企業將要成功前剛好出現的資金？

英國創業投資家凱特．賓漢（Kate Bingham）與提姆．漢米斯（Tim Hames）合著《The Long Shot: The Inside Story of the Race to Vaccinate Britain》，帶領讀者走入新冠疫苗開發的第一手世界，賓漢如何在英國政府要求下領導開發首支新冠疫苗，以及其中面臨的批評和壓力。

13.《Butler to the World: How Britain Became the Servant of Tycoons, Tax Dodgers, Kleptocrats and Criminals》

作家奧利佛．布勒（Oliver Bullough）的《Butler to the World: How Britain Became the Servant of Tycoons, Tax Dodgers, Kleptocrats and Criminals》，嚴厲批判英國和倫敦已成為許多超級有錢人甚至是罪犯，可以透過各種漏洞恣意洗錢的一個天堂。

14.《Dead in the Water: Murder and Fraud in the World’s Most Secretive Industry》

《Dead in the Water: Murder and Fraud in the World’s Most Secretive Industry》的兩位作者 Matthew Campbell 和 Kit Chellel 回顧 2011 葉門人假扮索馬利亞海盜攻擊希臘籍船隻的故事與法庭攻防戰，探討在背後的航運融資問題。
